Skeet Reese wins with 10 bass weighing 15-02
Weather Conditions:
Coldest weather of the year ranging from low 40's at night, warming to 70's during tournament.

Water Temperature:

Mid 50s to low 60s
Water Clarity:
Greenish-brown water in lakes. Clear in some canals..
Lure Selections:
7-inch ribbon-tail worm and 4-inch finesse worm
Cover:
Submerged vegetation near shoreline cover

 

B.A.S.S. Pro Tour / Lake Seminole
Lake Seminole - Bainbridge, GA
Feb. 6-9, 2003
Gary Klein wins with 14 bass weighing 55-10
Weather Conditions:
Cold and breezy with intermittent rain. Air temp in the mid-50's.

Water Temperature:

52 to 54 degrees
Water Clarity:
3 to 5 foot visibility
Lure Selections:
3-inch plastic craw (blue/black)
Cover:
Dense mats of shoreline hyacinths in river backwaters.

Feb. 20-23, 2003
David Wharton wins with 10 bass weighing 32-06
Weather Conditions:
Passing cold front left cloud cover, calm, and daytime temperature in low 50's

Water Temperature:

55 degree range
Water Clarity:
Heavily stained and muddy
Lure Selections:
3/4 oz. spinnerbait and flipping tube
Cover:
Cypress trees and brush along banks.

Mar. 6-9, 2003
Edwin Evers wins with 20 bass weighing 73-05
Weather Conditions:
Cloudy and rainy with daytime temperatures in upper 60's and low 70's

Water Temperature:

Upper 50's
Water Clarity:
Dingy and muddy
Lure Selections:
Stanley spinnerbait, Storm Sub Wart crankbait, and a Mad Lizard by Mad Man Lures
Cover:
Sparse vegetation over shallow flats as spawning fish moved in.

Zell Rowland wins with 20 bass weighing 98-09
Weather Conditions:
Stormy weather on first two days cleared by tournament end. Air temps near 80 degrees

Water Temperature:

Near 65 degrees
Water Clarity:
Stained
Lure Selections:
Spinnerbaits and lizards
Cover:
Shallow channel behind island

San Joaquin Delta - Stockton, CA

Weather Conditions:
Strong cold front with wind and rain. Day-time temperatures varied from mid-50's to mid-60's

Water Temperature:

High 60's to low 70's
Water Clarity:
Muddy to clear and everything in between
Lure Selections:
5-inch Zipper Worm Texas rigged and 5-inch Dominator Tube Bait
Cover:
Small ditches in sloughs

 

B.A.S.S. Pro Tour / Clear Lake
Clear Lake - Clearlake, CA
Apr. 10-13, 2003
Alton Jones wins with 10 bass weighing 38-02
Weather Conditions:
Colder than normal with overcast sky and rain. Daytime temperatures climbed into only the mid-50's.

Water Temperature:

Ranged between 53 to 57 degrees.
Water Clarity:
Dingy from runoff and pollen
Lure Selections:
Texas rigged Yum Dinger worm in Watermelon color
Cover:
Tules around docks

 

B.A.S.S. Pro Tour / Lake Hamilton
Lake Hamilton - Hot Springs, AR
May 1-4, 2003
Ron Shuffield wins with 20 bass weighing 44-12
Weather Conditions:
Temperatures in the low 60's in the morning climbed to the 80's each afternoon. Bright sunshine days gave way to heavily overcast skies with gusting winds and rain on the final day.

Water Temperature:

Around 70 degrees.
Water Clarity:
Clear water.
Lure Selections:
Heddon Zara Spooks.
Cover:
Boat docks.

 

B.A.S.S. Pro Tour / Alabama River
Alabama River - Montgomery, AL
May 22-25, 2003
Kenyon Hill wins with 10 bass weighing 29-09
Weather Conditions:
Bright skies with lows in the mid-60's and highs in the mid-80's.

Water Temperature:

Water temperature was in the 70's.
Water Clarity:
Muddy water in the river with good water color in the tributaries and some newly flooded areas.
Lure Selections:
Spinnerbaits and jigs.
Cover:
Eddies on rocky banks that dropped into deep water.
